Question by Curious D: How is food stored in the stomach fundus?
On diagrams, pictures and actual stomachs (anatomy museum), there does not seem to be any specific muscle or anatomical part which would enable this...I'm guessing that food falls in the stomach body by gravity...

Food is ingested and packed into a bolus... the bolus moves into the stomach via "peristalsis" with the help of gravity. Peristalsis is the contraction of muscle on order to move a fluid or substance through a tract. Like squeezing out toothpaste. Lastly the food drops into the stomach.
